This fully funded course is suitable for any third sector organisation in Leeds, including charities, voluntary, faith or community group, CIC or other not for profit organisation looking to access and apply for funding.

It will help your group to learn how to write a funding application for a small grant of a few hundred pounds up to around £20,000 to fund your organisation and/or your activities and services. We will identify how best to approach a range of funders e.g. local council funds, national lottery pots, trust funding such as Leeds Community Foundation and small charitable trusts and one-off funds, by looking at what makes a successful application, typical questions and how to answer them and understand how they will be assessed. You can bring along any small grant form you are planning to complete or have drafted to refer to in the session. We can offer you support following the course to give you feedback on any draft bids

Learning Outcomes:

  • Ensure you approach the right funder
  • Be aware of what funders want to know about your group and project/activity.
  • Understand how to answer key questions on application forms.
  • Know how bids are assessed.
  • Get feedback on your draft application (following the session)

This course is free to small and emerging not-for-profit voluntary/community/faith groups supporting communities in Leeds (as it is subsidised by Leeds City Council and would usually cost £70.00). If you would like to attend but don’t fit this criteria you will need to pay the full fee.
