Otley 2030 is looking for an enthusiastic and community-minded Community Food Development Worker to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver projects that reduce food waste, improve food confidence, strengthen community connections and support people to eat well.

You’ll play a key role in developing practical, engaging food activities that make a real difference to local people’s lives.

– Recruiting, training and supporting volunteers.

– Promoting healthy eating, affordable cooking and sustainable food practices.

– Building partnerships with local organisations, growers and food suppliers.

– Encouraging participation from people who may face barriers to accessing community activities.

– Collecting feedback and helping demonstrate the impact of the project.

This is a hands-on role combining community development, food education, volunteer coordination and project delivery.

We’re looking for someone who is:

– Passionate about food, sustainability and community wellbeing.

– Friendly, approachable and able to build relationships with people from all backgrounds.

– Organised, proactive and able to work independently.

– Confident leading cooking activities or food-based projects.

– Experienced in supporting volunteers or community groups (desirable).

– Committed to creating inclusive, welcoming spaces where everyone feels they belong.

A Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification (or willingness to gain one) and an Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to complete one) are required.
