Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) is a nationally recognised workplace first aid training course designed for employees who have been nominated as a first aider within their organisation. Ideal for businesses of all sizes, this 6-hour first aid course helps employers meet their health and safety responsibilities and ensures staff are equipped to respond effectively to workplace emergencies.
Upon successful completion, learners receive an Emergency First Aid at Work certificate, which is valid for three years.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this Emergency First Aid at Work training course, learners will be able to:
- Understand the role and responsibilities of an Emergency First Aider
- Assess emergencies safely and effectively
- Provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally
- Administer appropriate treatment to an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally, including CPR
- Recognise and assist a choking casualty
- Manage bleeding, wounds, and injuries effectively
- Identify and treat a casualty suffering from shock
- Assess and manage a range of minor injuries
