Essential Skills for Volunteers: Online Launch 11 Feb

Jan 23, 2026 | News

Volunteer recruitment and engagement training session showing a volunteer building positive relationships and supporting a community member through one-to-one conversation.

The Lifelong Learning Centre and Digital Education at the University of Leeds are pleased to announce that the Essential Skills for Volunteers course will go live later this month.

This free, online resource has been cocreated by the University of Leeds, Voluntary Action Leeds, voluntary and community organisations and volunteers. It aims to offer an accessible introduction to the key skills for volunteering and encourage adults to pursue further learning.

Please join us for an online launch event on Wednesday 11th February, 1-2pm to see the course in action and explore how it could support volunteering in your area.

This event is open to anyone with an interest in volunteering or adult education so please share widely with your networks. Complete the booking form to register and receive the session link.

For more information please feel free to Olivia Garvey by email: o.garvey@leeds.ac.uk.
